The Queer Ink Digital Library is an online, ongoing initiative dedicated to collating published works, gathering books, articles, videos, audio recordings, and visual ephemera that document the diverse and evolving narratives of queer lives within the Indian subcontinent.
By centralising these invaluable resources, the library directly counters historical erasure, providing unparalleled accessibility for researchers, activists, and the queer Indian community, as well as for individuals and their families globally.
This list is a collection of books, primarily focusing on LGBTHQIA+ themes, featuring various genres such as fiction, academic, and non-fiction. It includes details like title, author, publisher, year of publication, ISBN, and a brief description for each book.
The bibliography serves as a curated resource, primarily dedicated to literature exploring Indian LGBTHQIA+ identities, experiences, and issues. The collection intentionally spans a diverse range of literary forms, encompassing imaginative and narrative works of fiction, rigorously researched and theoretical academic texts, and fact-based non-fiction narratives and analyses.
For each entry within this expansive list, detailed bibliographic information is provided to facilitate identification and retrieval. This includes the full title of the work, the name of the primary author or authors, the publisher, the specific year of publication, and the unique international standard book number (ISBN).
Crucially, each listing is supplemented by a brief description that encapsulates the book's central themes, subject matter, or narrative focus, offering readers immediate insight into its content.
The overall structure is intended to be a practical and informative guide for scholars, general readers, and anyone interested in the breadth and depth of LGBTQIA+ literature.
To the extreme right, we will endeavour to list the books available for sale. It was the easiest for us to start with Amazon. Yes, I hear the groans. 🙂
